I finally got myself a copy of Anthony Williams' book 'Medical Medium' which was a fascinating read, especially his story. Since I don't know exactly which of the conditions he described I have (is it Epstein Barr, Heavy Metal and pesticide poising - very likely - or something else) I have been doing some detoxing because last month I was waking up in the morning with severe frontal headaches, which is unusual for me. Migraines I can recognize in a snap, these? Not so much. So I made up a formula based on his recommendations and have been treating myself for several weeks with as much of them as I can do right now. I am feeling much more myself now.
It is surprising (or perhaps not) how your moods and health are interrelated. I've been finding myself drawn back to creative projects that have long gone neglected and feeling very fulfilled and hungry to be able to do more challenging patterns of crochet. I just have to remember that my life needs more than projects and food to function. I can get a little out of balance sometimes when I'm enthralled with a project. Can you relate? Balance is so key to feeling fulfilled and your life maximized.
I've also been reminding myself more regularly that my life is truly blessed and abundant. We are driven by the Western idea of having more, more, more and living with the idea of lack and failure when we aren't one of the 'high achievers' of the world. But if we were to compare our lives to someone in a third world country they would consider us truly blessed and wish their lives could be so abundant. Remembering that we are where we are, and that it is all good, is the key.
So this week I want to encourage you to see where your life is blessed and focus on that and not the lack or failure of where you think you need to do better. You are doing the best you can for now and that's good enough.
I’ve just gone outside to enjoy some summer warmth and some fresh air to take a break from my latest project. As I sat on the back doorstep and played with Willow who was rolling around on the patio and generally begging me to tickle her tummy, I noticed how still it was despite the bees and butterflies gathering their nectar from the flowering herbs in my garden. Have you ever just sat and soaked up nature like that? It’s a very peaceful and enriching feeling, just to sit there and do nothing but be at peace.
We rush about so much in our modern world that we seldom take the time to really nurture our soul and heart with nature. Nature is not only our Provider, but also a source of great solace and source of attunement to our inner nature. When I was doing my shamanic training 20 odd years ago I really made a clear connection to my inner self through communing with nature. One of the reasons why I love where I live is because of the amount of trees around me. They always feel like great guardians to me and I love the stillness that surrounds you when you are in a grove in the trees.
One of the things that causes me such sadness is the relentless message we are getting from so many would be mentors that to fulfil our ‘mission’ in life is to become rich and famous. If we don’t we have wasted our life, or so they infer. Personally I don’t believe that is the case. We know from quantum physics that one change in your life whether big or small has the potential to ripple across time and space and create change, even on the other side of the world. We never really know how our personal development and coming into accord with our soul and spirit affects others.
I was listening to Gregg Braden’s latest video previews of his new course from Hay House this week and he gives his exercise for us to listen to the wisest part of us, that of your heart to find answers to our dilemmas. I’ve been using it for sometime now and I believe that what we access in our heart is the wisdom of our soul. To me that is the most beautiful message we will ever hear. And while I sometimes get a little irritated by new age fluffy messages (and I’ve been given a few to give to my clients from the Akashic Records) I know that I need to ignore my left brain in these matters which wants everything to be logically practical, and go with the best actions I can take from those type of messages and live with their truth.
We are more than physical bodies. If we are to believe quantum physics we are really just whirling masses of light particles (I’m paraphrasing here) which take form according to our consciousness. So if we decide to live from the highest vibration we are capable of, and take charge of out thoughts and feelings we become powerful creators of our own lives. Because as you know your thoughts create your reality because they are capable of creating form in due course. Our emotions are the powerful engine that drives the thoughts and give us the impetus to move forward with that creation.
I also wanted to talk about how we find that creation process so frustrating when we want, want, want something and it seems to push it so very far away from us, but I think I’ll save that for another newsletter.
In the meantime, if you haven’t seen Gregg’s presentation you can find a copy of his new book here. And the videos here.
This week something a little different. I've been reading online a book written in 1998 called Apostatasis and the last chapter is a channelling by the spirit of Light. With a lighthouse as my current logo how could i not love the light?!
Light gives this exercise to us to help the Earth and ourselves during these difficult times. I would love if you shared its practise with me.
IN LIGHT & YOUTake a moment. Stop all activity that interferes with your concentration and focus. You can stand, sit, lie down, or move. If you are tired, it would be best to sit up so you don´t fall asleep. Focus your eyes on a single spot. Breathe deeply three times. On the third breath, say or think: "My Higher Self and Light surround, protect, and fill me with Light to activate and quicken the Prime Vibration within me." [If you prefer, use your name for the Prime Creator in place of the Prime Vibration.]
This Light is your essence. As you move within it, you will see, feel, hear, or sense your Prime Vibration being activated and quickened. Some of you may notice a flash or burst of Light. There may be a sound. If you find yourself responding to this sound by humming or toning, that is fine. For others the sound will be a deep inner silence. You may feel a profound sense of well being, or a feeling of being centered and connected. There may be a sensation of deep peace, joy, love, harmony, balance. For some it is a very orgasmic feeling. You may feel the vibration physically. This may sway, rock, or vibrate your body. Trust yourself to go with whatever is happening. You asked for your Higher Self protection. It will protect your bodies as well.
For those of you in or going to France this summer.there are lots of workshops going on around the Carcasonne area. You can read all about it here.
Have a Light filled week!
I was listening to Michael Neill talking to Dr George Pransky who teaches about the Three Principles of which I have spoken previously. The most important principle that they were talking about, to me, was that our thinking creates our world for us. George calls our thoughts a paintbrush. In other words we fluidly create our external world by what we are thinking. Interestingly enough I also see it coming through in A Course in Miracles too. Certainly it was part of the One Command work I studied last year as well. Our thoughts and, thus beliefs are so powerful.
I really like this idea, and it is supremely useful in coaching. If you go into a coaching or counselling session with a fixed idea, the first thing that the coach would do (hopefully) would try to see things from your point of view. Only once they had done that could they point out to you that there were other ways of thinking about or seeing an issue. I’ll give the example I that Michael and George were talking about on the subject of productivity.
One of George’s clients was a salesman and he made an enormous amount of phone calls (cold calls) with very little in the way of sales at the end of them. When probed, the salesman admitted that he was very focused on himself during the client interactions, wondering whether they likes him, would they buy the product, etc. George pointed this out to him and suggested that he think about how he could do it differently, maybe see things from the client’s point of view rather than his own. The long and short of the story was that George’s client took his suggestion on board, even though he thought it was too easy, and found that when he got to know his prospects and their concerns his sales figures went up.
Marianne Williamson has a nice phrase that comes from her work with A Course in Miracles “I am willing to see this differently”. Obviously in the heat of an problem with another person this is unlikely to come up as a solution unless you are a meditator and can step back from your feelings in the moment. It takes time and diligence to be able to see what’s actually going on inside your mind under such circumstances, but it is something to work towards and a very practical outcome of meditation and contemplation exercises.
I have a lot of time at the moment to learn new things and I am getting a totally new take on how to understand other people (something that has always been important to me). I love the idea of understanding what is going on in someone’s mind about an issue in order to help them see another way. This comes through in all my work, in the Akashic Record work and in the coaching/counselling I do. It is a way of making a soul to soul connection with another person which is a part of my work that I really love.
What could you think differently about this week? And if you did, what could change for you?
